Dirt
Interesting, Veeeeery interesting. Big Empty is the first track on this demo, telling the tale of what seems to be a homeless fella in Noo Yoik or similar, and how he’s trying to convince himself that he can live on his own, “Just a stranger in this big old empty….I don’t need nobody…I can stand on my own” The track started off in one direction, with lonely sounding guitars and what I would call “latter day Led Zep keyboards” and then surprised me with a grungey riff kicking in.
Marv has a pretty decent voice, Ozzy minus the drugs and booze is how I’d describe it, especially on Jesus on the Run. Wires Inside has a very nifty heavy rhythm, a fitting end to this little EP/Demo. Dirt recently supported LA Guns at the Sugarmill [featuring Guns n Roses founding guitarist], check out more info at www.dirtrock.net. Get yourself a copy of the CD too, skulls are cool, huh huh huh.
